Ontario by Region
The 2018 CPA amendments apply province-wide. The local context — housing stock, climate, sales-territory patterns — varies.
Greater Toronto Area
The GTA is the highest-volume market in Ontario for door-to-door HVAC, water heater, heat pump, and air filtration sales — and accordingly the highest-volume region for unfair contract resolution.
Halton Region
Halton Region — Oakville, Burlington, Milton, and Halton Hills — has been a recurring market for door-to-door HVAC, water heater, and air filtration contracts.
York Region
York Region — Markham, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Newmarket, Aurora, and surrounding municipalities — is among the most heavily canvassed door-to-door HVAC sales territories in Ontario.
Durham Region
Durham Region — Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax, Pickering — has been a recurring market for door-to-door HVAC and water heater rental contracts.
Peel Region
Peel Region — Mississauga, Brampton, and Caledon — covers some of Ontario's highest-volume door-to-door HVAC sales territory.
Waterloo Region
Waterloo Region — Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge — has been a high-volume territory for door-to-door HVAC, water heater, and air filtration contracts.
Niagara Region
Niagara Region — St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, and Welland — has been a recurring market for door-to-door HVAC and water heater rental contracts.
Eastern Ontario
Eastern Ontario — Ottawa, Kingston, Belleville, Cornwall, Brockville, and surrounding communities — has been a recurring market for door-to-door HVAC contracts, particularly given the cold-climate context that makes furnace and heat pump pitches easy to start.
Northern Ontario
Northern Ontario — Greater Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, and North Bay — has been actively canvassed by door-to-door HVAC operators despite the demanding cold-climate context for some equipment categories.
Southwestern Ontario
Southwestern Ontario — London, Windsor, Sarnia, Chatham-Kent, Stratford, and surrounding communities — has been a sustained market for door-to-door HVAC and water heater rental contracts.
